The 100m-tall Statue of Belief has been mapped with 24 x 40,000 lumens Barco UDX projectors and Dataton Watchout technology for a light and sound show.
A 100-meter tall statue has been projection mapped with 24 x 40,000 lumens projectors, in what is believed to be the largest deployment of 4K projectors in India.

Axis ThreeDee studios deployed Barco UDX projectors and worked with Dataton media server technology for the project. The outcome is a sound and light show, conducted in the evening, designed to showcase a divine passage to spirituality.
The Statue of Belief is currently the tallest statue of Lord Shiva and the fifth-largest statue in the world. It is built on a 6.5-hectare site which receives an average footfall of 3,500 visitors per day, with more than 4,500 at the weekend. Surrounding the statue are three herbal gardens, a water feature, musical fountains, landscaping, an amphitheater, a food court, handicraft shops, and an amusement park for children.
The interior of the statue contains an exhibition hall and public viewing galleries, and this space is being developed into an experience center with immersive visuals, through the installation of 65 x 11,000 lumens Barco G62-W11 projectors.
Raji Bhalla, managing director of Barco India, said: “The mammoth size of the statue, and its multiple contours, made this a tricky proposition but Barco’s UDX-4K40 projectors have enabled us to create sharper images and bright outcomes for this work of art.”
Avijit Samajdar CEO of Axis Three Dee Studios, added: “These projectors offer infinite possibilities in their color gamut. Knowing that the surface paint would pose a challenge and with very little room for error, we honed in on the UDX for their ability to deliver crisp colors right from the ‘cool’ through ‘warm’ tones, which could exactly replicate our customized palette onto the surface.”
